I am also almost finished working on a 1965 Mustang electric vehicle conversion for Mark Juliar in New York state.
Just working out the final bugs in the system now – it is the first AC conversion that I have been involved with! 312VDC of lithium iron phosphate batteries, an Azure Dynamics motor and controller/inverter, a Manzanita Micro PFC-20 charger, with an EVision battery monitor by MetricMind Corp. The Battery Management System is made by EVPower in Australia.
It’s been a BIG challenge for me, and has taken much longer than I anticipated to do – Thanks, Mark, for your patience on that! I plan to post some pictures on this site soon.

Well, the Mustang has departed to the East Coast (New York state) to it’s owner as of May of this year. There were still a few tweaks that it needed, but Mark and I felt that they would be best handled back there. He found a couple guys that were familiar with the Azure system close to his place, and they agreed to help iron out the “bugs”. Now I need to finish the brake system revamp on the Datsun Kingcab – it may require reinstalling the power booster for the brakes, which was removed due to the absence of a vacuum source. So reinstalling it requires adding a small vacuum pump and resevior (I know that’s not the right spelling, but it’s late, and I’m too tired to look it up!), and finding a new linkage, as we threw the old linkage out!
Terrific, that’s exactly what I was shooting for! You just spared me alot of searching around
I will post periodic updates, but they may be infrequent. I posted some pictures of the Mustang yesterday, and have some more to post, possibly.
